Volunteer Registration Form

Thank you for your interest in volunteering in the 2016-2017 school year! Once you complete the following registration form, you will find a link to the background check. 

Background Check Process

If you are unsure whether your volunteer activity requires a PENCIL background check, please review the Background Check Process Graph  

*NEW - Background checks must be completed using our online form. We will no longer accept paper forms. 

-Complete the following registration form and background form. Both must be completed.

-Please allow 3-5 business days to process background checks.

-PENCIL will send a confirmation email to you when your background check has cleared. 

-If there are criminal records, PENCIL will discuss these findings with the school principal to determine volunteer status.

-All volunteers who have cleared will be added to the new security check-in system now in place at every Metro School. Volunteers will need to provide their license and volunteer activity at the front desk. Your name will be in the system as having cleared a PENCIL background check.

- Moving forward, background checks will be required 12 months from the time that you receive one.
